Diode Laser Treatment
For orthodontic patients, diode laser therapy has many advantages. We can safely and successfully remove extra gum tissue using a specialized diode laser, exposing more of the tooth’s surface for improved cosmetics and function. Your gum tissue acts as a “frame” for your teeth, and orthodontic lasers are used to shape the gums around them to assist enhance the overall look of your smile. What is the most beneficial aspect of laser treatment? In most circumstances, needles aren’t required! All you’ll feel is the small movement of the laser point after we administer a topical anesthetic to the gum tissue being treated.
Ideal Bracket Placement
A laser may be used to remove extra tissue and show enough tooth surface to install a bracket if your gums haven’t receded adequately or if a tooth is emerging more slowly than planned.
Impacted Teeth
Teeth that haven’t erupted correctly through the gums are referred to as impacted teeth. We can help a tooth erupt by applying laser therapy instead of waiting months for it to erupt on its own or performing costly surgical surgery.
Aesthetic Gingival Recontouring
Your orthodontist may consider recontouring your gum line after your braces are removed to improve the looks of your smile. Aesthetic gingival recontouring is a technique that reshapes the gum line to expose more of your teeth, improving the looks of your smile. To make the upper teeth seem longer, your orthodontist will use a laser to remove extra gum tissue surrounding them. If your gum line is uneven, cosmetic gingival recontouring might help you achieve a more balanced, symmetrical smile.
